SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Olmuksa’s Social responsibility project “Keep Paper
Alive” has been awarded as “The Most
Successful Volunteering Project” category.
"Awards from the Heart -2008”
has been organized for the second time this year by the
Private Sector Volunteers Association . Awards were
announced at the 16th National People Management Congress of
the "Turkish Human resources Management Association (PERYON)"
in front of a big audience . Olmuksa’s “Keep Paper Alive”
project has been granted as the “The Most Successful
Project” . The award aims to support volunteering works , to
demonstrate good examples which create difference and to
encourage volunteer projects in the private sector.
“Keep Paper Alive” project aims to raise environmental and
recycling awareness of students in the 4th, 5th and 6th
grades of the primary schools and to create proper
consumption habits . The project works started in January,
2007. After a successful pilot application realized by the
participation of 12 Olmuksa Volunteers in May 2007, Olmuksa
people were educated about the course outline . The project
started in November 2007 in schools of “Edirne, Istanbul,
Gebze, Bursa, Izmir, Adana, Manisa and Antalya” where our
plants are located.
At the end of the school year 2007-2008, “Keep Paper Alive"
project reached 5200 primary school students in 20 schools
and 8 cities with the high commitment of 550 Olmuksa
Volunteers as educators.
Olmuksa Volunteers, whose efforts are crowned with ”The Most
Successful Project” award will continue to meet kids in new
schools with the “Keep Paper Alive” project in the 2008-2009
school year. To increase the “Social responsibility”
awareness of Olmuksa people is one of the key strategies of
the company.
