Grand Opening of New Box Plant in Antalya, Turkey

In March 2008 , IP / Olmuksa’s new sheeting plant in Antalya officially celebrated its opening together with many customers and local officials.
In the 8000 m² facility, corrugated sheets will be made into boxes for primarily the Fruit & Vegetable segment. The facility is equipped with a modern 5-colour rotary diecutter and a 2-colour slotter.
The area around Antalya, in the southern part of Turkey, has a rapidly growing corrugated market; mainly for fresh fruit & vegetable products – a segment that demands high flexibility and fast service from box producers like IP / Olmuksa. Prior to the construction of the Antalya facility, we served customers in that region from our other box plants in Turkey. The Antalya plant now enables us to serve our customers even better as we will be in closer proximity to them and thus able to provide them with our high-quality products just-in-time.
The way the plant has been constructed also allows for adding more converting capacity within the existing building to keep up with the market growth. It also allows for installing a corrugator to produce corrugated sheets if desired. Currently, the corrugated sheets are manufactured at our IP / Olmuksa facilities in Izmir and Bursa.
The Antalya plant is Olmuksa's 6th facility in Turkey and started up in December 2007. The construction, which included a brand new building, was completed in the record time of seven months. |

REMEMBERING SAKIP SABANCI...

| Sakıp Sabancı, a legendary private sector businessman in Turkey, is being remembered with various activities under the scope of the first anniversary of his passing away. Taking over the Chairmanship of Sabancı Holding upon Sakıp Sabancı’s death on the 10th of April last year, his niece Güler Sabancı stated that everyone miss Sakıp Sabancı and said, “The ones who were closest to him are the one who miss him the most.” |
